For children that enjoy the Friday afternoon skiing at Hamill's, we offer an opportunity to ski 1-2 additional days each week in our Bill Koch Race program. In spite of the name, racing is not the main focus of this group. We use the BK-Race program to teach athletes skills and fundamentals in a slightly more-structured setting. Participants that wish to race are encouraged to do so, while it is not at all a requirement.
Kids in the BK Race program will:
- perform both skate and classic technique
- jump, play games, have relays
- learn from new coaches
- ski at the Ethan Allen Biathlon Range - world class skiing with snowmaking and lighted trails!
- learn from exposure to older athletes (the MNC high-school athletes train same time/place)
- have opportunities to race
- learn basic and intermediate technique
- ...ALL in a fun and supportive environment
